This post contains answers to a few FAQs from the practice tournament. It will be updated as more questions arise.

1. Chess.com kicked me out of the tournament while I was waiting for the next round. What should I do?

Answer: Chess.com is occasionally known to have a few technical glitches during live tournaments. This can sometimes occur if a player accidentally refreshes their page, clicks on a new tab when a round is beginning, or accidentally withdraws from the tournament. If this happens to a player, he or she should be able to rejoin the tournament through this club or through live chess. 

2. I am currently unrated. What tournament section should I join during the actual tournament?

Answer: If a player is unrated, he or she should play at least 3-4 10 minute games on chess.com prior to entering the tournament. This will give the player a fairly accurate rating reflecting the players skill level. 

3. How are prizes determined?

Answer: Prizes will be given to the top 3 players in each section. Regardless of the outcome, all players should remember that they are winners in the global fight against Covid-19 by joining to tournament to contribute to Cincinnati Children's Advancing Research for Child Health Fund.
