Farewell

Hello, my clubmates and fellow chess players.

Today, I have been forced to deliver to you some unfortunate news.

Before I impart to you my devastating message, I'd like to recognize all the people who have been of great help to me. All the friends and community members I have been playing with and talking with, as well as all the close friends who supported me, have given warmth and hope to my life in a time when such things aren't common. And I'd also like to thank Eric for creating this club. I hope you're doing well in college life, and that college isn't as disgusting as high school.

So...first, for the introduction of context.

So, well, I was discovered. I was exposed. By my parents. More or less. I asked my parents to let me play games. In exchange, they wanted me to tell something I had lied to them about. And so basically, I have told them the truth. I don't want to hide stuff anymore. They were already suspicious, but now they're sure that I've been playing games secretly, for years. I don't want to deceive them anymore, and even if I do, I know it's just going to destroy us more. I can't do that.

Also, at home, I'm working in a place where I can't hide my screen. What I'm trying to say is...goodbye. I will be gone for a while. I don't know how long. It could be weeks, or months, or...hopefully not years. I actually doubt it. I'm in no way saying that I will be gone forever.

But I have determined that to preserve my endangered moral compass, the best decision is to abstain from any type of lying, as much as I can. I'm sorry, everyone. I hope that I won't be away from you for too long. I feel sad to leave you.

Goodbye, and farewell, everyone! Hopefully, we will not be apart for too long.
