
Final standings - 2nd ADNOC Remote Chess Tournament
Monday, August 30th, 2021, was conducted the second edition of ADNOC Remote Chess Tournament, an online chess event open for all ADNOC Employees, that attracted over 260 members in the ADNOC Chess Club and 113 players at start. It was an extremely strong tournament with participation of many FIDE (International Chess Federation) registered players, holders of international chess titles.
The tournament was played over 9 rounds and after completing all the games, two players shared the first place: Abdulla Al Marzooqi (ADNOC HQ) and Lacap Louie (ADNOC Offshore). They drew in their direct match and they both manage to win all other 8 games, finishing with 8.5 points out of 9 games. The podium for FIDE Rated players was completed by Ahmed Al Zarooni (ADNOC Offshore).
For the second category, the FIDE unrated players, the first place was claimed by Ashish Kumar Singh (ADNOC Onshore) with 7 points out of 9 possible. With the same number of points but with a worst tiebreak, the second position was occupied by Wiwit Hari Purtboyo (ADNOC Refining). Finally, the podium for FIDE unrated players was completed with Tenkgu Mohd Fauzi, with 6.5 points.
