For the Love of the Game Arena @ 7pm pst! We had 23 players for Saturday Night Rapids.
Update on Friday Night Blitz which had a smurf account 1 hour old, also after registration the guidlines for my livestream arena was 2100. The 334 elo player who won the Gold medal and the 2500 4 day old account were both banned by chess.com. I believe that is the 29th account since June 2024 that has been over 2000 to 2700, mostly hour old accounts to a few days or weeks old accounts that have been banned in my Livestream Arena's, To date only one account was a 10 hour old account over 2400 was actually a FIDE Master and a legit account. I was informed today that that player who I had met in real life, about 5 months ago went to various people in my club as well as contacted people that played in my livestream arena that night, and made accusations that are false against me. I was sent the following transcript from that titled Fide Master that he sent to a player who was in the arena that night, and also in the club.
To be fair after I had reported a 10 hour old 2400 account. He had played on lichess for I believe 8 years and is a well known FIDE Master. He made an account and came into my arena, and I had played 4 games total on two Sundays in a row in real life against him. On the last Sunday I asked him if he would want to do a 1 minute promo for my youtube channel, and he in exact words "No, I do not think so. I replied no Worries and I thought I would ask.
I then came down with Covid two days later. We had a couple hour conversation both days, and then I was sick for 9 and a half weeks. He claimed I went at him for a week after I reported him on my livestream arena. Now like I said before I reported a 10 hour old account 2400, to chess.com. Based on all the arena's I run since June 2024 it was very unlikely that a legit player would play in my unrated arena. But why would I initiate a message to him, since I did think it was a suspect account. Obviously I would not so who went at who??? I also have the receipts of the whole converstation, and then months later his second titled account messaging me out of the blue and doing it again.
it was exactly opposite and he made some really shitty unbased claims about me. To what I knew at the time, I thought he just went at me and contacted Alan, who still at that time had no idea who it was. Alan then contacted me. I then contacted the dude and said hey I know Alan knock it off and he went off on me. I was later told by my RL TD that he was told about this situation and he knew the whole time and was told not to tell me.
So now it has come to my attention that it went even farther than that and he talked to my TD at my Real Life Club in which I was a member, and also online club members, as well as twitch viewers and made additional claims like the posts above.
He also messaged me in chess.com with a second titled account and made the absurd accusations all over again at about 1am in the morning a month or two later. Which I shut down and said I will not rehash this situation again and promptly blocked him.
When he entered the arena the night I reported him with a 10 hour account 2400 already, we had 26 players that were banned and not legit prior in my arena's since June 2024. Him playing on lichess for 8 years, he had no idea that I had to deal with players cheating in my arena's sometimes night. Did not care a bit when I tried to explain that to him, after he contacted me after the arena. Chess.com has final say on someone reported. If they are not cheating they will not be banned. Also I nor Alan, "chessasylum" that introduced him to the real life club I was in, knew it was him. He didn't inform alan, and he didn't inform me.
Now of course all he had to do is say John it is me, and I would of said oh shoot sorry. But of course he did not. He also did not care that I had to deal sometimes nightly with those cheating in my arena's. He claimed I disparaged him. Just for reporting a suspect brand new account to chess.com that had an excessive high elo. Remembering that not one player (Zero) over 2200 elo that have played in one of my arena's, has been actually legit up to that arena night. Not one. If he was there to help he would of said hey John it is me. He didn't do that. He proceeded to tell my TD in real life not to tell me as well, and not only talk to people in real life, but also go to online players that play in my arena's and in my club. Who was disparaging who???
All because I reported a brand new untitled account 10 hours old, over 2400 elo that we had never seen before in one of my livestream arena's. After countless players have been banned eventually, that have played in my livestream arena's???
4 hours of conversation over 4 games of chess, and pulls that crap??? My opinion it has to be something else, that there was definite intent to try and ruin my reputation. The name he chose, the actions after, and accusations he made and the full intent to character assasinate me with false accusations is pretty over the top! it does not make sense.
He is a legit top player in the world, and I did meet him and play him in real life. Of course it seems now that is all it took. Crazy as that seems. The comments above were made to a player that played that night in that aprticular arena and was from 5 months ago, hopefully this situation has run its course. That arena was in 2024 so this bullshit is still going on.
Thank you to the person that shared this with me. I was aware of it then because of the abusive messages he sent. I am now aware that it went way beyond that. Thank You for letting me know.
One thing I want to make clear, do not instigate any messages or contact at him. Do not go after this person, let him run his course, He is a legit FIDE MAster and a top tier chess player. I do not condone any underhanded tactics and will not stand for it.
I know he was wrong in what he did, I took the brunt of it, and I am okay. I did the right thing in stepping away from my rl chess club due to this situation as well. I will keep trying to make my chess club here on chessdotcom the best I can, and I will continue to multi-stream chess content, even if I do not have any viewers. I do the best I can, and I respect others, and I am honest. They cannot take that away from me. He can not take that away from me. His accusations cannot hurt me since they are not true. His belittling comments towards me cannot hurt me, because they are not true. The best play in a game like this is to walk away. I did just that. I will be okay.
