GM Wesley So defeated GM Gata Kamsky -- 1.5 - 0.5 and Advance to Round 4 of WCC
GM Wesley So played another surprising game -- first he opened with 1.c4, his first ever to use such first move in his chess career and that caught his opponent GM Gata Kamsky into surprise. The latter defended using the Dutch Formation but GM So employed a less-known variation by playing 8.Re1 ... it turned out to be the preparation by the trio (with GMs Joey Antonio and Darwin Laylo).
GM Gata Kamsky get into time trouble again and barely escapes the first time control. GM So then wily averted all attempts by GM Kamsky for counterplay and the two finally agreed into a drawn game.
