Hitting 2200 - What I learned
Hitting 2200 is a dream of many people, including myself. The problem being now no one wants to play against me, and the rating system makes it impossible for me to play rated against anyone below a certain rating (otherwise RIP my rating).
The most important thing I learned from my climb was that;
It's not always the right move to continue with your presumed line. After every move you should try to scan the board for new opportunities or threats and play based on that rather than what your initial plan was (unless of course that's still the best play).
I've had 2100s blunder queens on me because they were so focused on what they were planning to do they didn't recognize the threat they created. Discovered checks, Skewers and Xrays are a really good technique to learn and understand.
