House Points/Ron's Chess Game Challenge
Hello, Fellow Wizards! I have a few things I would like to say...
First off, I'm sorry I haven't been the most active lately-- I've been trying to get my bullet rating up and consequently, I've been spending less time in the club. But I do have some very exciting news!
As you know, summer is drawing to an end, and the first school term at Hogwarts is about to begin. In the upcoming year, I have had the idea to hold a House Cup at school, which our Headmaster has so sportingly agreed to. House points will be controlled by all House Heads, the Headmaster, and all Wizarding Chess Admins. Points will be awarded to club members for their achievements, and taken away for their failures. I will soon be creating a forum in which I will post daily updates of the standings until next May.
To kick off the competition, I have created a challenge for all active members of Wizarding Chess (House Heads, Admins, etc., including myself, will also be able to participate.)
In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry, Ron, and Hermione must play a life-sized game of Wizard's Chess to reach the Mirror of Erised. Your job is to recreate that very game in the most Ron-like, amazing, incredible way.
Rules:
First off, all moves that the book and film have confirmed happened must be used (For instance, in the film, with Ron playing Black, if Ron calls out, "Knight takes d five!" one of Black's moves in your recreation must be Nxd5). Owing to this matter, we can confirm that in the game, Ron being Black, the opening was a Scandanavian Defense (1. e4 e5). We also know the game ended with the Kingside Knight being Sacrificed to allow the Queenside Bishop to checkmate. You'll have to figure the rest out on your own.
Ron was a good chess player, so even though you want to make the game unique, don't make it so unique that the combined accuracy of both the players is like, 5%(joke.)
You have until Sunday night to submit your games in the comments section below. I will judge the winner, whose House will receive 35 points.
Thank you, fellow Wizards, and good luck to all!
