How Do I Play in the Biggest Match Ever?

Joining the match is very much like joining a live tournament. Follow these steps:

1. Let everybody know that you are going to play! Enthusiasm is the first step toward winning team events such as matches.

2. If you are a member of both clubs, you won't be allowed to join the match (Chess.com rules). So, sometime before the match you'll need to temporarily un-join the other club. Go to that club's page, click on Settings on the right. Choose to Quit Club. After the match is completed you should go back and join the club again.

3. Go to Chess.com's live chess server. Just choose it from the menu under Play.

4. Up to one hour before the scheduled start time, you'll see a match in the tournaments list. (We are scheduled to start at 18:00 LT/NY/EDT on Wednesday, so look for the match in the list beginning at 17:00.) Just click on the Tournaments tab to see. Click on that match and then click the Join button. You may need to scroll down to see the Join button depending on your interface, so make sure that you click that button! It's possible that you may not see the match if using a mobile app. If that's the case, switch to V3 under Chrome on your mobile device or switch to PC.

5. Wait for the start time. Players are added and paired in real time. As new players join, your pairing may change. So don't freak out and leave if your first pairing listed looks a bit tough!

6. The rest is automated. You'll play 2 games against your opponent, one after the other. One will be with White and one with Black. Just play your games and don't leave the tournament or the live server.

7. After the match finishes you'll see the result. Coverage will be live on ChessTV, so I believe that you'll be able to watch the archived show later after you finish. And don't forget to re-join the other club!
