How I drew against GM 2620
Hi There! This is CM Victor Neustroev and let me tell you about my chess adventures in Europe. I live in Novosibirsk, but there are no strong tournaments. That’s why I decided to go to Europe in summer and play in a few. I also took my daughter Alice. She is also a chessplayer, but not a strong player while she is only 10.
The first our tournament was in Corsica (Marina Viva Hotel). Nice place, tasty food, good weather and accommodation. And also strong chess players 😊
The first round was really hard! I was paired with black pieces against GM Michal Krasenkow (2620)! Looking ahead finally he was ranked 3rd! Btw my rating was only 2220. The difference is 400 points.
He was a soviet legendary player competing with Garry Kasparov. Now he plays for Poland.
His 5.Qb3 move caused real problems to me. I didn’t expect it at all and, of course, wasn’t prepared!
He played the opening stage very fast. After the game I found out that he had played same position before against a strong master and I’m sure he analyzed then and improved the line.
I prepared a detailed analysis of this game and published it on my Youtube channel:
Best regards,
