IMPORTANT! Changes in 4 Player Chess.
Hey everyone. We have a couple of very important new changes in processes which we'd like everybody to be aware of.
1. Alt Accounts.
You will probably be aware that we will ban un-verified alt (smurf) accounts from 4PC. We have worked strictly on the policy that players are allowed one account only.
Now that is changing slightly.
You are now able to apply for one of two types of alt account: a blindfold account, and a speedrun account. Here's how it will work.
- To apply for an alt account, we ask that you are decently skilled and relatively experienced in 4PC. An average of 2000+ in Solo/FFA/Teams and 500-1000+ games is the approximate benchmark, but will vary from player to player at the admins' discretion.
- If your application is successful, I ask that you inform me of your new account's username, so I can add it to the list of verified alts. You must wait at least 24 hours after doing this until you may play on the account.
- All rated games must be streamed live on a streaming platform such as twitch or youtube. This is so that admins can verify there is no foul play. Casual games can be played off-stream. You are under no obligation to promote your stream, and no facecam is required, merely a simple screen share. You must have VODs enabled. (Ask me if you're unsure about this).
- If you get a speedrun account, your account will be closed once your speedrun is over. You must inform me when that is the case, or face penalisation.
- You must use your alt account on the same IP address as your main account. This is to verify your identity. Your IP will not be shared.
- Alt accounts may only be used in the 4 player chess server. Failure to comply will result in heavy consequences.

Please note: it is still an offence to register accounts without permission of staff. This process is a quick and easy way to get permission for a 2nd account.
2. Ban Appeals
I get multiple messages every day asking for a ban to be lifted, or asking to complain about admins.
If you feel like you've received an unfair chat ban, play ban, or lockout, you may now fill out an appeal form. Remember, these appeals will take time to sift through, so we ask that you only appeal if you think you have valid grounds to do so. Appeals that we deem 'ridiculous' (eg, asking to be unlocked after unauthorised multiaccounting) will receive further bans. Do not let this deter you however, as all reasonable requests will be read and looked into.
