In 'Stuckfish' We Trust
Hand & Brain Variant
"In Stuckfish We Trust"
An anonymous teen inspired this variant of Hand and Brain, which can be played in person and possibly online, too!
Thanks to the creative idea of an anonymous teen and his 20-something teammate, we built on the concept of Hand & Brain to give chess players with a significant elo gap a fun game.
Opponent 1 - One Chess Player
No team. Just the strongest player in the pool of 3 players.
Opponent 2 - Hand
A team of two chess players using a combination of beginners, new to chess, intermediate, or advanced.
🧠Brain: Opponent with the strongest elo
(if okay with all participating chess players can use AI to call out the pawn or piece for the 'hand' to play - no hints)Hand: A team of two consisting of a combination of beginners, "new to chess" players, or one intermediate player.
*In the endgame, Opponent #1 can announce that he/she/they are purposely making a poor move and allow for #2's team to achieve checkmate in 2 to 3 moves
Online version proposal:
- Live, Rapid, Unrated only.
- All parties involved must know this is a Hand & Brain variant and agree on how the game will be played.
- Opponent #2 can be a team of one Streamer with a guest or two non-streaming participants (only with the approval of chess.com).
