Introducing... Automate! A totally new (weird!) way to play chess
Hey Chess.com BETA members! I have a fun treat for you - we are introducing Automate, a totally new and weird way to play chess.
Here are the rules:
Welcome to Automate, where you and your opponent both set up your pieces and then watch as the computer (Stockfish depth=18) plays the best moves to the end!
How to play:
Each player has 35 "points" of pieces to place on the board. You may choose ANY combination of pieces that add up to no more than 35.
Queen = 9
Rook = 5
Knight = 3
Bishop = 3
Pawn = 1
King = not counted toward score
Pawns must be placed first. At least 6 pawns must be used. Pawns may be placed on 2nd or 3rd ranks. No more than 1 pawn per file.
The King is placed last. The game starts when Black places their King. If you put your king on a square where he is in check, you lose.
