It's here! It's here! The second Long Time tourney is here!
It is time to sign up for our next long time control tournament, and this one looks like it will be better than the last!
First a few details:
The name was a little hard to go with so the tournament is being re-branded. Our new name will be DHLC Classical Tourney (75/30). This will be our second one, it will run through the end of July.
- The format will be the same as last one - Negotiated times, a 75/30 time control, one game per week, Swiss tournament. We will try to go six rounds if we have enough signup and play.
- Signups will end on Sunday evening, 12-Jun @ 22:00 EDT
- The first round will start on Monday, 13-Jun @ 22:00 EDT (Tues @ 02:00 UTC) and all game must be completed by the following Monday @ 18:00 EDT (Mon @ 22:00 UTC)
- Our sections will be the similar, dividing players between The Americas and the "Rest of the World". For "The Americas" we will divide players into groups based on ratings
- 1500+
- U1500
- U1200
- U900
- If there are enough players in the "Rest of the World" sections we will divide that into ratings groups as well.
- This tournament I will be using a tournament site to help me keep track of results/standings/parings
- ***New this tournament!*** We will be awarding a month of Chess.com Diamond Membership to the winner of each section!
To sign up, leave a Comment below with the following information:
chess.com user name, current chess.com Rapid Rating, if you would like to "play up" a level (see an example below)
I will be checking daily on the signups and will contact you via DM that you are registered and if I have any questions.
