Jamestown, Colgan To Rematch on Sunday
The Jamestown and Colgan chess teams are set to square off again on Sunday, October 10th at 6:30 E.D.T. The two teams' previous encounter ended with a 6-0 rout. Jamestown was led to its swift victory by outstanding play on the lower boards. El Verdiblanco will hope for another quick win; however, Colgan comes into this match with a much-strengthened team. "Obviously, last time [Colgan] really struggled to stay in the match with us. Unlike the last match, I don't expect the match to be over in 20 minutes. I do expect for our team to dominate in all aspects of the game." On whether he expects Colgan to be strengthened Coach Sheriff stated that "it would be hard for them to be worse. Their openings were pathetic, understanding of positions nonexistent and no game reached an endgame. I guess if they get to an endgame then it will be a moral victory." With confidence high, the Eagles will seek to retain their undefeated record on Sunday.
