Blitz/Rapid Tournament
November 26th 2022 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Format: Based on the number of players the format will be a 5-round Swiss System.
Time Control: G/5 Blitz, G/10 Rapid One Open section.
Check in and on-site Registration: 12:30pm – 1:00 pm.
Rounds: Round 1 starts at 1:00 pm or shortly after registration ends. Subsequent rounds start soon after the last game of the previous round ends. Each round will be approximately 1 hour where you and your opponent will play 2 (two) blitz games and 2 (two) rapid games each player playing as black and white. Scoring for the rounds will be based on combined scores of Blitz and Rapid games.
For example: if you win 3 games and lose 1 then you are awarded 1 point for the round, if you win 2 and lose 2 then you and your opponent will each receive 1/2 point. if you win 1 and lose 3 then you are awarded 0 points.
Free will donation Kearney Chess is doing a fundraiser so we can purchase a license for Swiss Sys ($100), a pairing software which will allow us to run tournaments more efficiently.
All Players and spectators including children must show proper etiquette and sportsmanship.

USCF membership is NOT required for this event*.
USCF rules will be used. Half point byes available if requested at registration.
EQUIPMENT: Players must bring their own sets and chess clocks if possible. A limited number of chess sets and chess clocks may be available. If you do not have a chess clock, you can download a chess clock app from your app store. Notation is NOT required for this tournament.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
