KPOP Female Group of the Month #12
IZ*ONE (아이즈원) was a South Korean–Japanese girl group formed through the Mnet competition show Produce 48. The group was composed of 12 members: Wonyoung, Sakura, Yuri, Yena, Yujin, Nako, Eunbi, Hyewon, Hitomi, Chaewon, Minju, and Chaeyeon, and was co-managed by Off the Record Entertainment and Swing Entertainment.
Iz*One debuted on October 29, 2018 with their EP Color*Iz, which peaked at number 2 on the Gaon Album Chart. Their early domestic and international success subsequently hailed them as the New Artist of the Year at the Golden Disc Awards and Seoul Music Awards. The group's Japanese debut single, "Suki to Iwasetai", released on February 6, 2019, peaked at number 2 on Oricon Singles Chart.
Throughout the group's active years, they released 2 studio albums (one Korean and one Japanese), and 7 EPs (four in Korean and three in Japanese). [wiki]
Iz*One officially disbanded on April 29, 2021. Eunbi and Yuri have since launched solo careers, Wonyoung and Yujin are about to debut with new Starship group IVE, Sakura, Chaewon and Minju are rumored to be debuting in a group under HYBE, Nako and Hitomi are promoting in Japan with HKT48 and AKB48, and Yena, Chaeyeon, and Hyewon are expected to debut under Yuehua, WM, and 8D Entertainment respectively.
