KPOP Female Group of the Month #9
LOOΠΔ (Hangul: 이달의 소녀; meaning "Girl of the Month") is a 12-member girl group under Blockberry Creative. From October 2016 until June 2018, each member was revealed one by one, along with their own self-titled single album and MV. The complete group debuted on August 19, 2018. Prior to being a full lineup, 3 sub-units were formed (minus Yeojin who couldn't promote due to school):
LOONΔ 1/3 in February 2017, featuring earliest members HeeJin, HyunJin, HaSeul & ViVi. Lead single: Love & Live
LOOΠΔ / ODD EYE CIRCLE in August 2017, featuring Kim Lip, JinSoul and Choerry. Lead single (must listen): Girl Front
LOOΠΔ / yyxy in April 2018, featuring Yves, Chuu, Go Won, and final member Olivia Hye. Lead single: love4eva (feat. Grimes)
- The group cost 4 million dollars to debut, which was eight times higher than the former most expensive debut.
- Part of LOONA’s story is how the group lives in a universe titled the LOOΠΔVERSE. This is depicted through their MVs and teasers.
- Each member has representative months, animals, and colours.
- Leader HaSeul was unable to promote 2020's mini-albums [#] and [12:00] but has recently returned from hiatus.
