Greetings,

Don't forget about our online events:  Sunday Night Chess on Chess.com!  Blitz Arena at 6:15p & Rapid Swiss at 7:00p

https://www.chess.com/club/colorado-springs-chess-club?ref_id=7846680

This Tuesday, at the Colorado Springs Chess Club, we holding the March Quick Qualifier (unrated, 5 games @ 10+5)!

Anyone can play and earn a spot in the 3rd City Quick Championship section in November.  Also, you can earn points towards qualification as well.  Clint Eads earned enough points in the 3 qualifiers last year to replace no-show Dr. Supreme King.  However, he was unable to knock-off eventual champ, Gunnar Andersen.

The 3rd City Quick Champ is the 2nd event in our Championship Season at the club!

60th City Champ:  October
3rd City Quick Champ:  November 24th (Qualifiers: 3/31, 6/30, 9/26)
31st City Speed Champ:  December 29th

Mark McGough was able to hold LM Brian Wall to a draw and steal half his birthday winnings.  I guess that means less tacos for everyone.

You might be able to view the ratings report on the new platform here:

When asked about his shocking draw to Mark McGough, Brian said,

"I will be at Taco House  1335 Wadsworth Blvd  Lakewood Colorado 5 pm
celebrating my 71st birthday with 5/8 brothers. Everyone welcome.
Thursday March 26, 2026"
