Match 1 of event 3

The match 1 of the event 3 ended as 5-3 score in favour of Meet. It was a tight match where Karnav took an early lead in the 5+1 segment straight away with 2 wins. Meet bounced back in the 3+1 segment leveling the score to 2-2. Then it was all upon the 1+1 segment where many blunders occurred like when Meet missed a mate in one and Karnav blundered a queen. The 1+1 segment had to be interesting. It started by Meet missing a simple mate in 1 but still taking the lead by winning the match and making the score 3-2 in favour of him.

In the next round, Karnav struck right away by winning the match, where his opponent missed a simple tactic , which lead to the levelling of scores once again by 3-3.

What made the match more interesting and intense was that the time of the final segment was running out. The third game was the Hungarian Defense of the Italian Game where in the middle game,white (ITPMeet)made several pawn breaks in the center like c3-d4 followed by e5 which lead to the opening of the e-file and white having a very strong rook at e5. Then black (ITPKarnav) blundered a piece which Meet missed and took it on the next move. When he captured the knight he missed that his rook was hanging(!) which went unnoticed even by Karnav and then Meet converted a piece up endgame easily leading the match by 4-3.

Now, as the clocks showed this had to be last game of the match. So, ITPKarnav had to win this match to force a tiebreak but he just simply blundered a queen and ITPMeet won the game along with the match with a score of 5-3.
