2026 Utah G/60! (Club Newsletter: May '26)

First off, thank you, everyone, for responding to the Players’ Survey. I really appreciate all the feedback provided. This will help us greatly in deciding which events you’d like to see and in keeping updates relevant to what you want to hear about.

And don’t forget that this Saturday, May 9, is the Utah G/60 Championship! A few of us will be playing in the Reserve section, where I will be trying to do better than my 2024 G/60 attempt and score more than 1.5/4 points, with only one win (and hopefully not lose in six moves again ).

Feel free to let us know and meet up with us for some warm-up and game recaps!

- (Fridays @ 7 p.m.) Weekly Casual Meetup - Bring a board or find an open seat. Perfect for beginners and club players to play and practice!

- (5/29/26 thru 6/19/26 on Fridays @ 7:30 p.m.) CCC Spring Chess League – More info to come!

Utah Chess Association & Community Events:

- (5/9/26 @ 9 a.m.) 2026 Utah G/60 Championship – Come out and compete in this four-round chess tournament with three sections to play in: the Booster (U1000), the Reserve (800 – 1700), and the Premier (1500+).

- (5/14/26 thru 6/4/26 on Thursdays @ 7:00p p.m.) Thursday Nights USCF Classical Tournament – Come out and compete in a one-game per night, four-round, classical chess tournament! See UCA Events for more info.
