Hi all,
Following our meeting last night, here is what was agreed upon:
We are seeing too many postponed tournaments and propose to limit the number as follows:
I/ Limit to 4 monthly tournaments against other clubs, preferably ones we haven’t played yet and, if possible, avoiding partner clubs to allow as many of our players as possible to register:
-- 1 monthly tournament for players with ratings under 1000
-- 1 monthly tournament for players with ratings between 1000 and 1400
-- 1 monthly tournament for players with ratings between 1400 and 1800
-- 1 monthly tournament for players with ratings above 1800
II/ 1 monthly internal tournament for everyone
III/ 1 monthly thematic tournament (the organizer chooses the opening they wish to play during the tournament creation phase).
I would like to warmly thank all my colleagues who have taken and continue to take time out of their schedules to organize our tournaments, and I want to make it clear that the limitations we are discussing are in no way a punishment for their dedication—quite the contrary!
Finally, we hope that this new organization will help limit the excessive number of forfeits recorded in our competitions, which harm the club’s image.
We will systematically exclude any player who joins us for the sole purpose of recruiting clients for personal gain.
