MY MEETING WITH @MOEKILLZ ABOUT THE UPCOMING IDT AND FIRST SEASON IN LC

I arrived at the Simple Motive Brewing Company


for my discussion with the 2024 rookie of the year candidate @Moekillz.
The beautiful @QueenMVP85 accompanied me to take photos.  The Brewery is  a nice tranquil spot that serves good beer as well as nachos and pizza which I ordered for us to munch on while we converse. Before @Moekillz and I   sat, we greeted and shook hands. Moekillz is a very  even keel soft spoken person, but make no mistake he is a very competitive person and even worse; he’s a killer on the board of 64
!  Extremely magnanimous as well as I found out he paid for the food ahead of time.  We were munching on the nachos when I began my interview. 

El: Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule @Moekillz for this interview. You are having a very good rookie season. You have not won a daily title yet but you have captured a rapid title this season. Has the possibility of winning the 2024 rookie of the year award entered your mind?

Before answering the question I could see a frown appearing on his face. His attention was focused elsewhere. He was staring outside of the window. He quickly excused himself and exited the brewery. I was baffled still in my chair.  I noticed through the window that he began climbing a tree outside then he cradled something small black and hairy. At first I thought it was a disheveled skunk!  I was wrong it was a cute and frightened black kitten who was stuck in a tree. He climbed down the tree and secured it in a small cage that he pulled out from the trunk of his car. The cage had a bowl inside that he poured some water in. The bottled water he also pulled from out of the trunk of his car. Then after he  saw that the frightened kitten was drinking and felt safe he left the caged kitten in his car with the windows down of course and returned to the brewery to continue our interview. 

MK: Sorry I just couldn’t let that helpless kitten stay up there in that tree. I love cats I have one at home. 

El: I understand. Wow that was a phenomenal job by you.

MK: Thanks, I will call the shelter after I am done with our interview but to answer your question, No it never has, but it feels good to hear I am in the running (for rookie of the year).

El: Also vying for rookie of the year award will be @J_Santiago.
 He has not qualified yet in that you have to play in at least two daily tournaments to qualify. He will be playing in the upcoming Independence Day tournament (beginning June 30th at 3:45 pm eastern standard time) like yourself. There is a potential that you two will be matched up against each other. Do you feel confident about that confrontation?   

Mk:  Santiago is a beast- that I will be giving myself "un baño the flores" and saying a few prayers in preparation.

El: You should feel confident because in the one daily match up you two have had you beat him. Will you try a different strategy this time? In the first game he used the orangutan opening against you with white!

Mk: I will have a trick or two for sure .

El: Your nemesis Bustamove82
will also be in this tournament. You are 9-5 against him. What do you attribute your success against him to?

Mk:  Oh I don't know maybe the fact that I am better LOL

El: 😂😂😂

(After we recovered from the laughter I continued my questioning). 

El: Is there a player in this upcoming IDT you would rather avoid?

Mk:  No not all - I enjoy playing everyone

El: Conversely is there a player in the upcoming IDT who you genuinely enjoy playing?

Mk:  Just due to the long history Busta (@Bust_a_move82 and @Sonniedaze)and Sonnie

El: Do the Knicks have a shot at winning a title next season? 😂

Mk:  😂 If healthy 100%

El:  Final question!  What advice would you give first time chess players who would like to play as well as you do?

Mk:  Review your wins and losses - listen to those who are better than you when given advice.

El: Moekillz thank you for your time.

(We shook hands and I thanked him for the meal. I couldn’t stick around and wait with him for the animal shelter to arrive because I had to  head upstate to conduct my interview with @Bust_a_move82. This should be interesting lol).
