Note that titled players are allowed to compete but are not eligible for prizes. If a titled player is in a position to receive a prize, it will instead go to the next non-titled player in the standings.
Judit Polgar Global Chess Festival Update
Theory64 was proud to have @ponzi_0 and @mattgoalie represent the club in the Judit Polgar Global Chess Festival event this last Saturday. They both finished with 5.5/11 against very tough competition.
A game to highlight is one played by @mattgoalie in the very first round against FM Ranindu Dilshan Liyanage, the current Sri Lankan chess champion. The game ended in a draw due to time pressure but @mattgoalie had a commanding position as white versus the 2800 rated FM.
