Ohta Endoren: Battle For Middle Earth Rules/Format Change Annoucement
Greetings everybody, I'm KGreenGator and I'm going to be running stuff with J_R_R_Tolkien and the LastGunslinger. We've been talking and decided that we don't have the time to run a map but we are going to be starting the event in a week and a half and do a double round robin league between the 6 kingdoms of Arnor, Gondor, Khazad-Dum, Mirkwood, Mordor and Rohan so we hope you can join us
The 1st matches start May 1st and it should be an epic tournament for the fate of middle earth. Each kingdom will play 10 matches, 2 against each kingdom and the top three kingdoms with the highest score at the end of the matches will qualify for playoffs, with the top kingdom receiving a 1st round bye, while the 2nd and 3rd ranked kingdoms fight each other in a wildcard match, for the ages for the chance to fight the top kingdom in the championship match /for control of all of Middle Earth and its kindgoms and people/the title Rulers of Middle Earth
The higher seed in playoffs matches will receive draw odds if the end match score is a tie, so if you're the lower seed you'll need to beat the higher seed team to advance or win the championship. So it is important to do your best to get as high of a seed as you can in the 10 regular season matches to make it to the playoffs and if you can pull it off get the 1st round bye so that you have time to rest and prepare for the championship .
A match win in the regular season will give your team 3 points and match draw will give your team 1 point so be sure to not draw to many matches and only draw if you have to. Tiebreak for playoff seeds/playoff spots if necessary will be head to head (between the two or more tied teams, with the team with the higher score against the other(s) receiving the higher spot/seed), followed by the number of total wins a team has compared to the other(s). In the crazy event there still is a tie after those the team with the fewest losses will receive the higher spot/seed but wins matter and each one you get might make the difference
Teams should now elect captains/generals to invite people to their club to fill in the gaps of the people who haven't joined their listed club. If you haven't joined it yet or left it please rejoin it because your team would love to have you in their matches. If you're new and aren't on the list and in here, please request to join Arnor, Gondor, Rohan or Mordor because they currently have the fewest.
I'm going to ask on each team page who would like to be captain/general and if you want to be in charge of bringing in more folks to help you out be sure to comment that you want it and if no one else comments you will be made it by the end of the weekend If two or more of you do, it's up to you guys then to decide who gets it and is going to do that for the team. If you can't decide I'll pick one of you to do it by the end of the weekend. Captains can't invite players that have a daily rating higher than 1650 and need to fill in their squad the best they can based on who they don't have from their original list to make for a more fair/balanced event. This is the list and what should be referenced/used for that. https://www.chess.com/news/view/it-is-here
Good fortune/may the best kingdom win!!! Godspeed/Merry Met, KGreenGator!
