Order amid the chaos

The lives of assassins and snipers are characterized by order: careful planning, painstakingly acquired intel about your target, advance reconnaissance of the terrain...  but what happens when everything goes sideways?  Can you still hit your target when nothing looks familiar?

Chess960 is a chess variant that scrambles the initial positions of the pieces on the first rank.  Rooks still stay on either side of the king, Bishops still hold down opposite colored squares, but everything else about the opening position is randomly generated.  Your opening book - worthless.  The only thing that will save you is your ability to think on your feet... but that's what assassins and snipers do best, right?
