PRO Chess League consist of 24 teams from around the globe and is played on Chess.com that has 31 million users including the entire world chess elite. Sweden Wasabis was founded two years ago by members of Wasa Schackklubb and since its inception has worked deliberately and purposefully to develop a virtual community of chess players by regularly streaming on Twitch.com, arranging simultaneous exhibitions at Schack.se and recurring weekly club competitions at Chess.com. Everyone who works with Sweden Wasabis is convinced that there is a need to complement the traditional chess club and tournament. Wasa Schackklubb was founded in 1917 in Vasastan, a district in Stockholm, capital of Sweden and has been a regular club in business for 102 years it now includes 288 members out of which 198 are juniors of school age. Through participation in the PRO Chess League, new opportunities will open to develop the online chess experience and above all reach new generations of chess players. We look forward to our next 100 years with confidence, we want to be a leader in combining the long history and tradition of chess with the successful impact of e-sports as we aim to become a meeting place for all chess players and a world class e-sport team.
