Todays tactic: PROMOTING PAWN
A far advanced pawn can decide the outcome of the game. If promoted to queen, various tactics are used. Usually there is a sacrifice, as a result which gives the opportunity to turn a pawn into a queen or another piece. Enjoy!
Ok, I should white description here... Hehe.... Here Black king has taken "warm" square at f8 - doesn`t wanna move away. Team white has to find a way, as todays tactic says, to promote a pawn. How should White kindly ask Black king to move away?
Looks like draw? Kind of, but no. Find a way for team White to promote!
Again - nearly a draw. If it would be Black`s move - they will take the pawn and agree to draw... There is only one winning move that will make sure White will promote and win.
Although pawn is the weakest peace on chess board, when it attacks something, it can capture it (peace on it`s left or on it`s right) or move forward. Knights are poor defenders especially when pawns have reached 6th or 7th horizontal. Long story short - find the best moves for team White to promote the pawn!

Well long explanation on this one but I will try.... Move 1.... a3 does not work because Team White is in time to play pawn c4 to c5 and pawn c3 to c4 and eventually White bishop covers critical a1 square. Secondly Team White wants to play Bd6 and stop the advancing pawn. However there is a way to gain this one tempo and promote a pawn - try to find it!
As You saw in previous puzzles, there is a way to move pawn forward and give a check at the same time. It works here and in next puzzle - try to find!
How to hunt away the rook standing on c8?
There are 2 tactics in this one - promoting a pawn and deflection of piece.... Only together they ensure team Black to win...
Again - get rid of defender!
The problem here is that rook can only defend the pawn from capturing by a king. I mean, if king is in a way for pawn to promote - You need one more attacker besides the rook and team White does not have it. How to ensure promoting?

Yeah, I like this one a lot... As a pawn can promote to queen You need to be ready for sacrifices.... All that White wants is to play Rd5 and ensure defence against promoting pawn. Moreover Black is in a check but there is a way to save the day...
