Hello blitz chess specialists of Red Deer and thereabouts!

I'm taking the plunge and entering our club in Judit Polgar's Global Chess Festival. Complete event information can be found here: https://www.chess.com/news/view/judit-polgar-chessconnectsus-championship-registration

Basically, our club can nominate up to 4 players to play in the grand final on October 14, two adults and two juniors. One male and one female player in each category. All players in the final get to attend a free online master class with GM Judit Polgar (!) Other prizes are available across many rating sections (see website).

But in order to be eligible, you have to play in our club qualification event! With their permission, of course, winners will provide me their contact information so Chess.com can contact you and arrange details for Zoom monitoring and Fair Play screening. There is NO ZOOM for the qualifier, only if you make it to the finals.

Please enter the event only if you are willing and able to participate in the Finals. Please check out the official site before deciding. Registration will open 1 hour before the event. Here are the details:

Date: Wednesday, September 20

Time: 8:01 p.m. MST

Format: 6 round Swiss (3/2 blitz) - this is the same time control as the finals

Who?: Any club member!

The best adult woman, best adult man, junior girl, and junior boy will be nominated. Tournament score in points will determine the winner. Chess.com tiebreak system will be in effect if necessary.

Please feel free to contact me on chess.com with any questions, etc.
