Red Deer Daily Chess Tournament 2023 is Now Complete!

A hearty thank you to all club members who participated in our daily chess tournament over the past several months. It looks like we had good games with fair play all around. Thanks for playing fair and finishing your games in a reasonable time frame, everybody.

Special congratulations to my co-finalists @ceebee45 (2nd) and @Auzib12 (3rd).  Well-played, gentlemen.

I would like to make this a yearly event, so watch for the next one to start closer to the autumn of 2024. I learned a few things as TD, which I have no power to change:

1) Chess.com tries to make the rating average similar in every group in every round. Standings seem to have nothing to do with pairings.

2) Because of this, you can sometimes face the same opponent round after round. Annoying, but unavoidable apparently.
