Red Deer Summer Rapid and Blitz Tournaments 2025

I have some exciting news for the chess players of Red Deer and environs: for the first time in a long time there will be rated rapid and blitz tournaments here in our city! Red Deer will host as part of the 2025 Western Chess Tour. A space has been booked and a date has been set, so mark your calendars.

**IMPORTANT UPDATE: Event Date Moved to July 5, 2025**

This will be a one-day event. You can play in both the rapid (20 min + 5 sec increment) and blitz (3 min + 2 sec increment) events or just one. A CFC membership is required and can be purchased ahead of time (either yearly or for this event only).

WHEN: Saturday, 5 July, 2025 (Rapid Starts at 11am, Blitz at 5pm)

WHERE: The Professional Building, 4808 50 St, Red Deer, Centre For Social Impact, Training Centre

FORMAT: 5 round rated Swiss (rapid); 5 round rated double Swiss (blitz)
