Return to OTB Chess - June 23rd, Online Tournament ,Thu June 24th
Dear all,
I have been advised by the venue that the Chess Club can return to Over the Board meetings from tomorrow evening (Wednesday, June 23rd).
The venue has now provided a QR code, which members are expected to use to scan in – for those who do not have access to a mobile phone, a manual register will be available.
Please note that we will need to follow the existing COVID restrictions, including wearing of masks indoors.

Whilst we were scheduled to play the final two rounds of the Winter Swiss (classical time limit games) over the next two weeks, given that we haven’t actually started the tournament, I propose replacing the final two weeks with a rapid tournament.
Last week’s replacement tournament on chess.com attracted 11 players, Rifky was the run away winner, although he did drop a game at the end.

Given that the online tournaments have been attracting several players who we might not usually see at the Club, I’ve created a separate online trial tournament for Thursday evening for anyone interested: https://www.chess.com/live#r=1226455
Time limit 10 minutes + 2 second increment, starting time 7:35pm, Thu June 24th.
