Rule Change: 2100 Rating Cap Implemented

The Board Administration has been in talks for a very long time about a potential rating cap after the announcement that Season 3 would not have a rating cap in a transition to a new IHSA format. However, after months of discussion and hearing out Raburn Series teams, we believed that it was fair to implement a rating cap.

As of 4/4/2020, all teams will be required to field a team with their #1-8 having an average of at most 2100 by chess.com blitz rating. All players will have to have at least 10 chess.com blitz games played. All team managers/representatives who manage their team must ensure that their top 8's average is at most 2100. A rough estimate is adequate. Although this rating cap on all teams will be required, this will not be mathematically enforced and ratings will not be tracked. However, an investigation of a team may be instigated in suspicion of not following this guideline and is subject to potential suspension from the League. Teams who wish to submit a lineup again because of this change can do so by simply resubmitting a form for Team Registration. All teams at registration will go through a check by the Board Administration to make sure that the team follows guideline.

Thank you for sticking with us! We hope you all stay safe, stay at home, and save lives!
