Hello everyone! happy.png

Previous Saturday we had our very first match in the Streamer Battle League vs San Francisco Mechanics and as it happened, we were victorious by 2-1!trophies.png

The lowest rating division up to rating 1400 unfortunately got cancelled as none of the Mechanics players showed up! I guess it must be difficult to wake up at Saturday morning 09:00 AM Pacific time, but that's not our fault. nervous.png Special thanks to Sanra13, muckaluck, Mr97N (all 3 my channel subs!) and TomassL, who were there, registered well in advance, ready to fight! I'm sorry that you didn't get the chance to play a single game, but at least you earned for our club a victory in the division! As I understand, you organized some sparring games between each other! Can I count on you for the Wednesday match? happy.png

The middle division for the rating group of 1400-1800 was the toughest. We had 3 players (olipalsson, gm500 (both subs!) and fsds01) who fought valiantly but in the end had to accept the defeat by 1.5-4.5, thus Mechanics managed to equal the score.

The match was decided in the highest division, 1800+. For the longest time Positionalchess0 (sub!) was the only player from our club and in the last 30 seconds I decided to help him out by joining the division! This allowed us to score a narrow win by 2.5-1.5 and take down the entire match!

Initially I was not going to play as I wanted to follow the progress of all 3 divisions, but this proved to be impossible as I can't follow progress in other divisions if I'm playing in another - weird! I really hope that many more players will show up for the next match as this Wednesday at 19:00 GMT+2 we are playing against the World famous Saint Louis Chess club! The registration will start 1h before the match as usual, please don't miss it!

A word of caution, Muckaluck reports that there is a technical glitch if you are a member of both clubs that are playing against each other - you can't join the match. To fix this you need to temporarily leave one club, play the match and then rejoin it. It's awkward, I know, but currently it's the only workaround. Please let me know if you are going to play! happy.png Links to the tournaments are available also at the front page of the club.

Tomorrow before the match I will be running a shorter training session for the Ultimate Sensei training show and right after that - jump in for the club match, so stay tuned!
