Second Open Bracket Underway!

Hey all, the second Open Amateur Speed Chess Championship is underway. You can view the current bracket here; we will update it as matches are played.

Negotiate a time with your opponent (pairings are listed below) where you are both free to play a Speed Chess Match. Each match will consist of:

• 2 5+1 blitz games (one each as white). These will count for 4 match points each.
• 4 3+1 blitz games (two each as white). These will count for 2 match points each.
• 8 1+1 bullet games (four each as white). These will count for 1 match point each.

There are 24 total points possible in a match, thus, the first player to 12.5 has clinched the win. Once a player has reached 12.5, there is no need to play out the rest of the games.

If the match is tied 12-12 after the games are completed players are to play sudden death 3+1 games with the higher seed getting the white pieces first

Also, it is probably a good idea to keep track of the actual match score in the chat, since the chess.com match score will weight all games equally, which is incorrect.
