Hello everyone! Welcome back from summer break and welcome to Utah to those come in from out of state for school.
Recap:
1. CCC August Quick:
With the new time control of G/10+2, we had some very, very, very competitive games amongst our seven competitors in the USCF section and three in our Public! Ultimately, our top winners are the following:
- USCF-rated winners: 1st: Tobin Bennion (1732); 2nd: Banks Bennion (1290)

1. In-Person Events:
- (9/25) CCC USCF September Quick Tournament: Join us for our monthly USCF-rated/Public tournament. The tournament went so great, I’m comfortable with a new start time of 7:00PM to match our usual meet-up times!
When: 9/25/24 @ 7:00PM; Where: Kneader’s Bakery & Café @ City Creek Mall Format: four-rounds; G/10+2; Entry Fee: $5 for USCF section; Free for Public section

- Weekly Casual Meet-up: Bring a board or find an open seat for free, casual games of chess! Perfect for beginners and club players to play and practice.

- CCC Chess.com G/10+2! – September: Join us online in this month’s Chess.com-rated event and compete against other club members!

3. UCA & Community Events:
- 2024 Utah Amateur Championship (9/14/24): A great 4-round Swiss tournament with 3 sections: U1800/unrated, U1400/unrated, and U800/unrated. Winner of the U1800 section will also win the right to play in the 2024 State Championship!
