'Some Tips to Strengthen your First Steps in Chess'
Hello! it is a pleasure to greet you. My name is Jerzy Jesus, I'm a professional chess player and coach.
First of all, beginners should focus on improving their general understanding of chess. This is achieved by studying the fundamentals of it.
They should study the principles of the initiative, activity, relative value of the pieces, basic endgames, tactical ideas that are mostly presented in practice and build a repertoire of openings that allows them to reach instructive positions and enrich their chess understanding. In short, all those basic aspects necessary to be able to advance to the next level and delve into each of them, with details and different aspects increasingly complex as you progress.
### All this that I have commented previously can be perfectly done on your own, but it would not have the organization and the specificity that an experienced coach at your side gives you to guide you in each step and keep a note of what you are studying why you are doing it and what you are pursuing with this in the short, medium and long term.
Finally a tip about your practice:
Before thinking about how many games you won in one day,
- focus on how many useful conclusions you drew from these games,
- what you learned from them, and how to improve what you did wrong to do the best in the next few occasions.
Also, with the help of the engine you can find the best moves and know where you went wrong and try to explain why it happened (explanations given by a coach could become fundamental).
These are some of the recommendations that I wanted to share with you.
I hope it has been useful to you and that it helps you as advice in your future decisions and improvement in chess.
Best wishes to all of you!
