Event Details:
Date: Saturday, 24th of May
Time: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Tournament Format:
- Time Control: 5 minutes + 3 seconds increment (5+3)
- Rounds: 7 Rounds of Open Blitz + Knockout Stage for the Top 4 Players in Each Section (Single Elimination)
- Knockout Stage: Semi-finals and finals
Entry Fee:
$30 - Early Registration (ends on Sat 17th 3pm)
$35 - Main Registration (17th to 23th)
$40 - Late Registration (starts on Friday 23th 3pm)

Prizes:
1. Winners of Each Section (Pro/Advanced/Intermediate/Beginner):
1st: Medal + Trophy + $50*
2nd: Medal + $40
3rd: Medal + $30
Last place of each Section Free drink
*Trophy: Best Pro/Advanced/Intermediate/Beginner of Spring '25 in Silicon Valley Chess Community
2. Random prizes for all participants after the tournament, including:
3 Chess.com memberships (1 month each)
Refund Policy: Refunds are available up to 24 hours before the tournament.
Schedule:
- Check-in: 2:45 PM
- After Round 4: break 15 min
- After Round 7: Top 4 players in each section advance to the Knockout Stage
Sections:
Players are grouped into sections based on their Chess.com Blitz Rating:
- Pro: 2000+
- Advanced: 1500–1999
- Intermediate: 1000–1499
- Beginner: Below 1000 Rating
Verification Requirements:
- Section Determination:
Chess.com Blitz Ratings will be used to determine your section. If you primarily use Lichess or only have USCF/FIDE ratings, use the rating comparison tool for reference.
You must provide your MAIN Chess.com or Lichess account for verification.
- Important Rules:
1. Account Verification: Send your active account with recent game history. We will review your submitted account to ensure it is your main account.
2. Playing in the Correct Section: If your account indicates a rating that exceeds your section’s limit, or if we find that the submitted account is not your primary account, you will be disqualified.
