Streaming Oct 4th at the SCC: A Well-Known Hungarian Chess Icon Named Judit!

A world class chess figure from Hungary who goes by the name of Judit is on the calendar for our next live-streamed lecture at the Silverdale Chess Club.
It may not be the same Judit you have in mind. This Judit, (I'll call her the second-most famous chess Judit on today's chess scene), is Judit Sztaray, a titled International Arbiter.
Judit "number-two" works as a “Chief Chess Referee" alongside the top grandmasters in the world. You’ll find her maintaining the law and order of top Grandmaster chess with Magnus, Fabi, Alireza, Levon, Gukesh and the rest of the world’s top ten, helping to arbitrate any disputes that may occur.
Arbiters oversee chess tournaments, ensuring fair play, enforcing rules, and resolving disputes between players. Their responsibilities include pre-tournament preparation like checking regulations and planning logistics, overseeing the venue, monitoring the games to ensure rules are followed, and managing the correct entry of results.
Judit Sztaray is also the Director of Chess Club Relations for Chess.com. When we connect with Judit on the first Saturday in October, she will be back in her home country of Hungary — home of the other Judit and the Polgar family).
At the end of November, Judit S. will be landing at Sea-Tac airport and proceeding to Bellevue where she will be the Chief Arbiter in a FIDE-rated event called the 19th Annual Spice Cup. This FIDE tournament, co-sponsored by the Washington Chess Federation, will feature four Grandmasters and run alongside the Susan Polgar National Boys and Girls Foundation Open.
