I didn't set this group up, it was done by another guy who has since left for 'work' reasons. Boo UKIP! Despite his political leanings he enjoyed and endorsed the Groovy tournaments which many others have also come to enjoy. The Groovy tournaments have simple rules; nobody gets in over the stated ranking, bar a few point here or there if I know you well enough.  Unrated players don't get in, they tend to be cheats and no vacation time.

The Groovy group will run along the same lines, I have set up inter-group tournaments for those over the 1199 rating in the recent past but will not be doing so any more. I want this group to be for 1199 and under only. Current members over the rating are, of course, welcome to stay until they feel the need to move on or unfortunately drop back down into the nether regions with the rest of us.

I will be exacting these rules with group games between our co/shadow/sister group the Wolf Pack.

Finally, group games, as far as I'm concerned, are for winning as much as an individual game. If you're a member of the Groovy Group you're a member of a team and time-outs, without good reason, won't be tolerated. If you time-out you will have 14 days ( plenty! ) to give good reason and apologise. If you have a problem with saying "Sorry, I fell out of a plane at 12,000 feet and have only just regained the use of my little finger and the first thing I did was log on to Chess.com to play the group game I didn't time out on", then you need to find another group. Chess is for playing and trying to win, apologies are for starting a game with someone and not finishing. Would you do that in bed? I don't think so. Manners cost nothing. Enjoy your games and play fair.

ADMINS - PLEASE TAKE REGARD AND ONLY ACCEPT CHALLENGES OF 1199 OR UNDER.
