Members of the NSPCL! Welcome to the start of the 2025 Latruncularius Chess Championship. 

Many, many days ago, we started out with this particular tournament.
Actually, nah, let’s be real, one day there was a lone chess player who liked to move pieces (who never will?). He liked weasels. Meanwhile, TacticalTaonga loved math and his mom (still does). Another, she loved her dad (still does). A few time zones away, MasterJayWinner's GOAT was (and still is) LeBron. Another enthusiast, he cared about the cat that belonged to the neighbor, whereas his soon-to-be acquaintance loved how the sunshine made the rain shimmer as the rainbow set in. Shaky loved to chill and travel the world at the same time (still does). Last but not least, vlibrovs saw the worth in the gym (still does).

However, there was something always missing - or at least something that could be added to all of this. All of a sudden, they received a message inviting them to a tournament (and by extension, a league) where every move has a purpose, like how every second and action in their life has some purpose, whether or not they realize it. They didn’t just show up for the numbers, but for the epic competitive fun that Latruncularius (and The NSPCL) embodied from the onset, akin to the good vibes they want to have in life at heart.

This is the LCC '25 - let the purpose be played out.
