"Temporarily" cancelation of CWC/ECL

I have been running CWC/ECL/960WCL for the last couple of years. It has been done in my free time with no request for anything. The only reward was the good feeling that this activity brings additional entertainment to many chess players, gives geograpic perspective to our games and helps to cross differences which are between many nations and persons,

During the time I had to make many decisions which sometimes lead to personal attack. This is quite unbelievable as this is just "fun" competition without any rewards, prizes or glory. But I put it aside and focused on seldom gratitude that somebody is volunteering to spend his time on organizing such event.

After reading some of the responses and personal messages after the recent post, I have decided that there are better ways to spend time than on this community like helping with the humanitarian support for those who were forced to leave their homes after barbarian act of Russia (what I was doing last 3 days)-

I am happy for some of the responses supporting the peace and I would write them the same way probably two weeks ago, but sometimes just condeming and saying sorry is not enough, especially when you stay against somebody like Russian government. 

I am very sick from another responces, which refer to the previous conflicts. I am very sad that such events happened in history, but we can do anything about it now. But we can do something for the present and future.

At the same time I wont buy argument that we are just common people and we do not have any relation with this. Russia government represents all Russian people so everybody is at least indirectly responsible as I would be for the government, which I have in my country. I have big respect to those, who voice their opinion like @ashoust or Garri Kasparov and greatest respect to those who voice it openly on the streets when they now they will got punnished by the government. And I am not talking about those, who supports this occupation as there was such post too.

Banning of Russia teams from CWC/ECL was not focused on the playes themselves but on the country, whose government is trying to occupate another country and killing civilians on the way. And I am still sure, I did the correct thing.

I sincerily hope, that this conflict will finish soon and the Ukranian people can return to their homes and start fixing the damages inflicted by Russia army. At the same time I hope that this war will not have longstanding impact on common people in Russia and we can soon fight against each other only over chessboard, footbal field or hockey stadium.

With having said above, I stop to manage any cities competitions (CWC, ECL, 960WCL) immediately. If you find another admin, who will volunteer his time, I will not stop him and hadnover admin rights to this group.
