The 2023 Ultimate Chaturaji endgame guide - part 1
Many of you probably know that I've been working on an endgame guide for you. However, because of scool and dedicating myself to improvent etc, so it was hard to get enough time to finish the full guide. I decided to write some concepts now and then I will work on a part 2. I guarantee that regardless, this will still improve your endgame knowledge A LOT, and thus I will give it to you as a present at the beginning of 2023
Some things to note:
- In the most popular time controls 1 | 5 and 4 min (specially the latter) - Blitz - It is often impossible to think through the position. We have unfortunately not gotten to the point where slow chaturaji becomes a reality, as most players don't have the time to play them. Anyways, the longer the time control, the more useful these concepts get, as you can really think through and figure everything out. 1 | 7 is already getting much popular, but it is still really fast and I don't think it should ever be called a rapid game. It technically falls into that denomination because there are 4 players, but the opponent's time is not as useful as your own, so why should we consider it as such? If time controls like 4 | 4 get more popular it would too be very good for the development of the game.
- In blitz you need to have developed instincts and react to tactics quickly. Obviously, the instincts will be wrong a lot of times, just like in chess, but they are worth using as overthinking spends way too much time for such a game.
With nothing more to say, I'll just give you the link to part 1:
