The 20^th Battle of the Kings

The Royal College Chess Club is geared up to host this prestigious event for the 20^th time, under the captaincy of W.M.K.V.B.Wijekoon, making it the only chess tournament organized by any school in Sri Lanka which has lasted this long.

• When-8th, 9th and 10^th of January
• Where- top floor of the new ‘EDEX building' at Royal College
• Particiation- at least 40 teams, 280 players is expected(team event with the largest participation in the Chess calendar, after the National Schools and Sri Lanka Schools Games)
• Specialty 1-will be International Rated for the first time ever(1^st and only international rated schools team championship and the only international rated event organized by a school in Sri Lanka     
• Specialty 2- The one and only 'Crazy' tournament of Sri Lanka will be held again  for the 4^th consecutive time           

 With the unwavering support of the college staff, old boys as well as the kind sponsors, it is safe to assume that the Royal College Chess Club will pull off a memorable event from which each player, teacher, coach and parent will take home something special.
