Introduction

Hey guys! So, all a lot of us want to get better at chess. Well, in order to get better at chess there are three rules, or as I like to say pillars. Today we will be going over those.

Develop your pieces

So in order to actually win, you have to move your pieces. That is what developing your pieces is. Moving your pieces so they can get into a good attacking and defensive position.

Here, you can see that black has not developed his bishop and rooks. They are sleeping, which is not good for development. They have to awake active.
Control the center
The most important squares in chess are most likely the center 4 squares, e4, e5, d4, d5. They are the most bustling squares as a lot of attackers come and go through there. That is why you need your pieces controlling it. So you can stop all the commotion by taking pieces out one by one.

Get your king safe

So in chess, everyone can agree the most important piece is the king. The whole game revolves around the king.

So in this position, who is winning? Black! Why though? That is because the white king is in the middle of the board, while the black king is protected all around him.
Conclusion

In conclusion, there are 3 important pillars in chess

  • Controlling the center
  • Developing your pieces
  • Get your king safe

Controlling the center is very important as a lot of the game goes through there

Developing, or moving, your pieces is important as it helps your attacking and defensive positions

Your king is very important. So you must keep him safe, not in the middle of the board(Unless it is KOTH)

If you follow them, you will most likely succeed in your game.
