The August Cheer Giveaway Challenge Is Beginning Registration!

Well, this wasn't announced previously, but due to a new month on the horizon, and the club encroaching on 100 members, I'm hosting a new challenge! And yes, you will also be benefitting this club by participating!

The last one was solely based on club growth, but this one will promote activity.

So, basically, the rules are a lot more complicated this time.

So, once again, to join, just DM me.

However, to win this one, you need to gather "power". There are a multitude of ways to gather it, and there will be more added in the future, but these are the current ones:

Posting a puzzle (3 - 5 depending on quality)

Posting a non-chess related meme (1 for each meme)

Posting a chess-related meme (1.5 for each)

Creating a forum game (5 - 10)

Posting a chess tip (2-4 based on quality)

Posting any other useful or interesting forum (1)

Being active in notes for a day (1 1st day, 2 next consecutive day, then 3, continues to 6)

Creating a club event (3, requires being given coordinator first)

Inviting members (2 for each invite)

Participating in the previous recruitment challenge (1 for each invite made in the recruitment challenge, caps at 10, will be given invite link)

Being the first to answer daily problems posted during the challenge (depends on the difficulty, up to 3)

Rewards:

Power gathering rewards:

1 cheer for each power

Milestones:

10 power: 10 cheers

15 power: 10 cheers + promoted to coordinator (20 extra cheers if already coord+)

25 power: 20 cheers

35 power: 25 cheers

50 power: 40 cheers + promoted to admin (40 extra cheers if already admin+)

75 power: 60 cheers

100 power: 100 cheers!

(Milestone rewards below the top one you achieved will be halved. Someone who gets 100 power will thus receive 5 + 5 + 10 + 13 + 20 + 30 + 100 = 183 cheers from milestones.)

Placement rewards:

This will be different. A wheel will be spun determining the placement winners. The odds of winning are determined by gathered power.

1st place: 60 cheers + promoted to admin (40 extra cheers if already admin+)

2nd place: 40 cheers + promoted to coordinator (20 extra cheers if already coord+)

3rd place: 20 cheers + promoted to coord (20 extra cheers if already coord+)

The challenge will begin on August 10, 2025, and will end on August 30.
