Now this is how they will both work: The u1600 will be split into 3 divisions. The top 2 from each division will move onto the prelim finals (top 6) here is the draw for the u1600 division
A: B: C:
USA Sri Lanka Australia
Canada Greece Turkey
Azerbaijain India Serbia
Remmember that in these divisions that this will be a round robin. Then it moves onto to Top 6, then down to the Top 3 (The Grand Final) Remmember that most games will be analysed by very strong players afterwards.
The match settings: 3 Players
2 concurrent games
3 Days per move.
Now, the exciting bit is for last. The Open Division. Just remmember in both divisions I have picked these at FULL RANDOM out of a hat.
The Open has 10 teams in total, which means we will have 2 divisions (5 each) Now 5 teams is a lot and it would mean each team would have to play 4 team matches at the same time. So to make it easier, we are going to split it into 2 Rounds. So each team will only have 2 matches at a time. When ALL of the team matches for Round 1 in that division are finished, then Round 2 will start.
The Top 2 teams from each division move onto the Finals (Top 4) Then, there will be 2 matches there then 2 teams go home, 2 teams stay onto THE GRAND FINAL!
Again, this is full random, here are the divisions:
Group A: Group B
UK Turkey
Serbia India
USA Greece
Sri Lanka Australia
Canada Azerbaijain
and here are the rounds for BOTH Divisions:
Division A: Round 1 Division B: Round 1
UK vs Sri Lanka Turkey vs Australia
UK vs Canada Turkey vs Azerbaijain
Sri Lanka vs Serbia Australia vs India
Serbia vs USA India vs Greece
USA vs Canada Greece vs Azerbaijain
Group A: Round 2 Group B: Round 2
UK vs USA Turkey vs Greece
UK vs Serbia Turkey vs India
Serbia vs Canada India vs Azerbaijain
Canada vs Sri Lanka Azerbaijain vs Australia
Sri Lanka vs USA Australia vs Greece
2 concurrent games
5 players
3 days per move.
BUT, we have 1 exception: Turkey. Turkey have only reached 4 players. but they are so desperate to play. So IF you are playing Turkey, have 4 players. Their 5th board will forefit. Nobody else got close to not reaching 5 players.
Now, another note: DO NOT START GAMES YET. You are allowed to lock your team on November 1 (scheduled) So you can give me time to contact Yuri from chessleagues.com. But please start up the matches and get your players in, but DO NOT START! I will give each team 1 week to lock from when you are allowed to. I will notify you if that November 1 date will be delayed or will be earlier than the schedule. Also remmember that you only start your round 1 games, and your round 2 games start when the round 1 games are finished. But, please feel free to start up the match early if both teams agree and get players in really early. That is what Australia will be doing so feel free to challenge us for Round 2.
If you have any questions, please say something here, and I look forward to The 2016 Junior International Cup!
Ciao!
