This Saturday! Choose Your Rounds, Get a Quick Rating!
Dear Silverdale Chess Club Members, Families and Friends,
Starting this Saturday at 12 noon, an innovative chess club tournament experience where YOU decide which rounds to play is calling your name.
You can choose to play all or some of 5-rounds of Rapid Chess at "Game-15" (15 minutes per side, 0 increment) and receive an official US Chess “Quick Rating. Then, decide whether to play 3-rounds on the following two Saturdays (your choice). October 4th will feature a Iive streaming interview with International Arbiter Judit Sztaray,
Don't be late! The Ridgetop Rapids Chess tournament kicks off at 12 noon this weekend. Chess sets and clocks provided (extra clocks preferred, so if you have one, bring it along). More details follow below.
Note: On October 4, the Rapid games will be punctuated by a live streaming event with one of the chess world's top International Aribiters. IA Judit Sztaray is also the director of chess club relations for chess.com. If you've ever wondered about how the rules of chess are carried out at the very top levels, Judit can tell you, along with what it takes to become an International Arbiter yourself!
