Site: Phil Cline YMCA Renaissance Room, 917 9th Street, Huntington, WV 25701.
Format: 5 Round Swiss System, G/90 d5 (Rds 1-2 G/75 d5)
Registration: Saturday 9:30-10:45
Rounds: Sat 11-2-5. Sun 10-3:15.
Entry Fee: $60 received by 9/12, $70 at site. GM/IM/WGM free, $70 deducted from prize.
Entries: Online registration at chessregister.com. Mail entries to Harrison County Chess Club, PO Box 4338, Clarksburg, WV 26302.
Prizes: $600 guaranteed, $$ b/20: $200-150-125, U1900 $100, U1600 $75, U1300 $50. Upset prize $40. Unrated may not win over 50% of an announced prize.
Byes: One irrevocable half-point bye allowed in any round, must commit before round 2.
Other: WVCA membership is required for in-state residents competing in the State Championship. Membership must be obtained before or at the start of the event. The State Championship title will not be awarded to anyone who did not obtain membership before or at the start of the event. WVCA Annual Business Meeting will be held Saturday at 10am. The highest finishing junior WVCA member will be crowned as the 2025 WV Junior Champion. Marshall University will be playing a home football game on 9/13; please plan accordingly.
