Tiger Temple part two
There are one hundrad and forty eight Tigers at tiger temple but tourists only see twenty of them.Staff said the reat of them live out their lives in other cages where they can live out their free time in retirement, but an american travelled their three years ago after he becane suspecious, but just two months into his six month programme,he left after becoming appalled by the staff,s treatment of the animals. They feed the tigers the chicken as it is cheap and the temple needs the tigers to make money,so they take the Tiger Cubs away from their mothers at two week,s ,so they can get used to being around humans.Ot in the wild, they are with their mother,s for two years. At the Temple they have tourist,s molesting and feeding them all the time,as that is how the monk,s make money. Some staff tease them, pull their tails or tickle them with a stick. At night they are put in small cages with no stimulation. An official from the BornFree Foundation said:"First and foremost it is a visitor attraction, not an animal sanctuary with no benefit to tiger conservation and extreemly questionable animal welfare standards. We have recieved reports of heavy-handed treatment of animals spending very long periods of timein chains and living in inappropriate enclosures stressfully close to other tigers. It is high time these Tigers were offered a more suitable environment with appropriate care, away from the demands of visitors and animal handlers".
