Untitled Tuesday reminder and Saturday event - July
Here we go again! Our next event is tomorrow, Tuesday July 4th. We will start at 3:30 PM Pacific time, 22:30 UTC, which should give time for Titled Tuesday to finish. Time zone converter: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Untitled+Tuesday&iso=20170704T2230&p1=1440
We will go with eight rounds; if the group continues to grow, we will probably go to nine rounds for next month. The time control will be three minutes with two seconds of increment.
The use of computer assistance is not permitted. Games will be monitored for fair play violations.
To join, go into the live chess server and select the Tournaments tab. The Untitled Tuesday event will appear in the list an hour before it is due to start. You can also use this link: https://www.chess.com/live#t=865663. Note: club tournaments are a V3-only feature. If you use the old version of the site, you will need to temporarily switch to V3.
Saturday Event
Since there is no time that works for everyone, we will vary the time of the Saturday event every month to accommodate different time zones. If the time one month doesn't work, maybe next month will be better.
This month, we will go with 5:00 AM UTC, Saturday July 8th. Note: this is Friday evening in North and South America. Again, we will go with eight rounds, unless the size of the group and the turnout in tomorrow's event suggest that we're ready to go up to nine rounds.
Live Streaming
@LonerDruid is planning to live stream our events this month (assuming his recent internet troubles are resolved). The link for Tuesday's event is https://www.twitch.tv/events/63251. His coaching club is https://www.chess.com/club/the-next-move-chess-academy, and his normal streaming channel is https://www.twitch.tv/thenextmove. If I understand correctly, he is planning to provide live commentary for the Tuesday event, and stream while he plays on Saturday.
